The power of positivity

Updated: Sep 6

We have read thousand of times in books, in blog articles online and heard it as well in numerous podcasts and YouTube videos that thinking positive will make your life positive.

A lot of people think that this is just a fairy tail story that we keep telling ourselves to avoid putting in the necessary work but this is far from the truth.

Research has shown that indeed, thinking positively or even pretending to be positive releases endorphins from your brain and this makes you feel better which then improves your job performance, your mood, raises your energy levels and influences your relationships.

It also gives you the motivation and willpower that you need to start taking action towards your goals and you enjoy the process more. The results that you get from anything that you engage yourself with are way better than when you are engaged in them in a negative mood.

This is because positivity makes most of your tasks seem easy and enjoyable.

The real question now is, does happiness come after success, or is success just a byproduct of happiness?

If you are on your way to success, then happiness can be one of the strongest and most important tools that you’ll need. Not only it will help you stay healthy and full of energy, but it will help you make the best decisions during the process.

When your mind is in a good state, it’s being reflected on your actions and decisions that you take on a day to day basis. The actions and decisions that you take determine the kind of results that you’ll get.

It all starts with your mind, and if you do not take a good care of it, it will not take a good care of you. It all starts with your mind.

You can see how well one’s mind is by its environment and personality. A person that creates unnecessary chaos, has chaos in his mind. A person that is very well organized has his mind in check. Take a look at your bedroom. Your bedroom says a lot about your personality, your state of mind.

A well organized bedroom is a reflection of an organized mind and vice versa.

As mentioned, the kind of decisions and actions that you take determine the results that you’ll get. The decisions and the actions that you take are a result of your thought patterns, your state of mind.

So if you want something different in your life you have to change what you do everyday, and to change that you need to do a renovation in your mind, organize it and change your thought patterns.

Choosing happiness is how you do that. Making happiness your standard state of mind will over time rewrite your old thought patterns and create new neurological pathways which then will influence the actions and decisions that you make.

Happiness is one of the strongest mental tools that you need to make a positive change in your life, and yes, achieve your goals faster and more effortlessly.

Working hard physically and mentally is not sustainable, not healthy, and not very effective as it leads someone to burnout and actually make you an enemy of your mind. Instead of working against yourself and struggling your way to success, try to work inwards first, develop your state of mind and let that guide you and do most of the work.

“You can work hard, but if you don’t work smart, you will work for the rest of your life”

Most of the work is not visible in our eyes, it’s happening behind the scenes, but because we were conditioned to believe that only physical hard work brings tangible results, we cannot relate so much to the power of our subconscious.

We can only see 1% or less of what is really going on around us and somehow we believe that 1% is all there is out there and all we need to work with to bring forth the results that we want to see. Our subconscious operates in the invisible 99% of our reality but we ignore that and rely on our very limited perspective.

“A war that operates in every human mind below the subconscious level, like a computer program, constantly running in the background, guiding us to some eventuality”

Hard work is for people that operate on low levels of consciousness, that are unaware of the workings of the mind. Times are changing but not a lot of people do. Most of us are still rooted in the old way of thinking and doing things.

Thanks to the technology that we now have, we can find better and more effortless ways to do the necessary work to improve our life because we not only we now have access to information, but also to the rest of the world. The bad thing today it’s that most of us are still attached on working hard instead of smart.

We believe that without hard work we cannot see any change but this is not the truth anymore. Smart work is the way to go and by smart work I mean working with your mind and the nature of life by your side instead of going against the flow.

Being positive puts you in harmony with the power of nature that all inspirations, ideas, breakthroughs and insights lie and that power exists only in the present moment.

Your mind is the portal between this power and your life, and mental struggle keeps that portal closed. The more in harmony you are with the flow of life, the more you let that power express itself through you.

“Your mind will answer most questions if you learn to relax and wait for the answers” — William S. Burroughs

This is why happiness is such a powerful tool when it comes to making a change in your life. Don’t let that tool just lie there. Use it and get rid of the limiting belief that only through hard work you can see results.
