You are exactly where you deserve to be

Updated: May 14

You probably compared yourself with other people of your age. A lot of them are way ahead of you. They make more money, they have better partners, they have a better life, better possessions, etc.

You might be wondering how did they achieve all these things at that age, and you did not? Then you start working on yourself and you don’t see any results in the 1st year so you give up.

Now the reality is, you didn’t see any results because you are 1 year old. You feel that you’re behind because you compare yourself with 5 year old people. Now let me explain what I mean.

The people that you compared yourself with, are not actually the same age with you but older in terms of experience. They started building their business, working on themselves, experimenting and learning with different things 5 years ago let’s say. So that makes them now 5 years old, in terms of experience.

You started working on yourself when you saw their results. You started working on yourself and gave up in the 1st year because you didn’t see the same results. They are 5 years old and you are 1 year old in terms of experience and growth. You are not actually behind, you are exactly where you should to be.

You are exactly where you should be

It’s like being a 5 year old kid and asking a 1 year old child why he can’t walk, talk or read like you do? You get the point now?

Now when you start comparing yourself with people that are better than you, it can actually be a positive thing if that pushes you into starting working on yourself. The hard part it’s to keep doing it.

Sometimes you start without even knowing it. Let me give you an example. I’ve gathered a team and started building my startup idea and already going pretty well, the demand is high and there is not something similar in my country at least. The startup is involved in the travel & tourism industry.

We started building it 2 months ago, but the business is actually 2 years old. The idea was planted in my mind 2 years ago, and ever since, my subconscious has been developing the idea and putting things into place for it to come in life in the best possible way.

One guy in my team got involved in web design & development a year ago, another one in graphic design & UI/UX design last year as well, another one in marketing for over 2 years and the other guy has been working in the travel & tourism industry for almost 10 years so he knows what problems and issues our startup is trying to solve.

This past 2 years, the people that was going to bring my idea into fruition started acquiring the necessary skills while my subconscious was developing the idea. 2 years later, today, the startup went from just an idea into an actual product with a high demand and investors wanting to be a part of it. All of that in 2 months.

That’s how Tesla was inventing his machines. He was working in his mind, finding errors and fixing them in his imagination, and when the invention was done without ay problems in his mind, he started working on them in the real world and that’s how he was inventing so many things without errors.

“My method is different. I do not rush into actual work. When I get a new idea, I start at once building it up in my imagination, and make improvements and operate the device in my mind. When I have gone so far as to embody everything in my invention, every possible improvement I can think of, and when I see no fault anywhere, I put into concrete form the final product of my brain.” — Nikola Tesla

Those 2 years, that I thought nothing was going on, everything was going on in reality for the idea to come into life. It was like an invisible force took my idea and started preparing things and people so that it comes in the physical world as smoothly, effortless and fast as possible without many errors, and that’s what’s happening right now.

I’ve been working on another project as well for almost a year, so that makes the particular project 1 year old. You do not expect a 1 year old kid to do a lot of stuff, and that’s the idea behind every project, you do not expect big results so you do not compare your project with someone else’s. You do not compare a 1 year old child to a 5 year old.

So how can you use that knowledge to improve your life? Start working on a project or a skill, and stick to it. When you just give up and go to the next one, you are wasting all the hours that you have putted into the one project. Staying committed is how you grow your business and your life.

Of course in the beginning you’ll be jumping from project to project which is a good thing because you acquire skills and experience, but at some point you’ll have to commit yourself in 1 or 2 projects and stick to them until they grow. That’s when you’ll see results.

Commitment is what transforms a promise into reality

That’s not only with businesses, it comes down to your life as well. Keep working on your body, on your confidence, on your social skills and other skills. Keep reading, meditating and growing yourself until you have some years of improvement under your belt. That’s when the results will become visible to you and everyone around you.

Don’t forget, you are exactly where you should to be. If you don’t like your current situation, do something about it. The earlier you start, the earlier you’ll see results. Don’t have huge expectations from the first or two years. See the long term path and just be sure that results will come to you only when you stay committed in growing yourself.
